How psychological disorders occur?


The ultimate cause of psychological disorder is not known. There are many biological, environmental and psychological factors involved in this mental illness. Biological factors involve many factors including infections, heredity, brain defects, prenatal damage, substance abuse, lead exposure and poor nutrition.Psychological factors include following factors:

  • Psychological disorders caused due to sexual abuse, physical and emotional distress
  • Ignorant behavior
  • Lacking ability relating to others
  • Parent loss

Environmental factors involving mental disorders include:

  • Death
  • Divorce
  • Living in poor situations
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety and depression symptoms
  • Anger
  • Loneliness
  • Feelings of insufficiency
  • Changing schools and jobs
  • Cultural and social expectations
  • Substance abuse

Stress, anxiety, depression and mental illness sometimes occur if a person has a family history for depression and anxiety.  However, infections can also play their part thus worsening the case of mental illness.  Mental illness can also occur if due to some accident person’s brain is injured. All these causes ultimately lead to different symptoms of psychological disorders and need psychological disorder test.
