There are many ways for the eye cancer treatment. Eye cancer treatment depends on the extent, advancement, size, diagnosis and aggressiveness of the tumor. Eye cancer treatments include:

• Radiation therapy
• Surgery
• Laser therapy
• Heat therapy
• Freezing

Small tumors can be treated by freezing and laser treatment. In some cases, it is possible that after removing tumor, vision is preserved. Radiation therapy, however, is most advanced eye cancer treatment technique .If an eye cancer is advanced and it becomes necessary to remove eye tumor then plastic surgeons perform reconstructive eye cancer surgery.Today,artificial eyes or implants move almost naturally and normally and are indistinguishable from natural eyes although they do not see.

In case of families with eye cancer history, early detection and preventive measures for cancer can help to alleviate some anxiety symptoms and thus minimize damage.

There are several eye cancer symptoms. There are many eye cancer conditions that can cause symptoms of eye cancer. The eye cancer symptoms include:

• Blurred vision
• Watery eyes
• Pain in or around the eye
• Partial or complete loss of eye sight
• Bulging of one eye

If the above symptoms of eye cancer appear and persists one should contact ophthalmologist. There are no eye cancer symptoms in the early stages of eye cancer.

Usually eye cancer may also cause:

• Loss of peripheral vision-one can see what is clear straight ahead but cannot see around its sides
• Seeing flashes of light and spots called floaters which are usually a natural part of getting old.
• A dark spot on the iris which is a colored part of the eye.

Pain in case of eye cancer is rare. There is a pain in eye cancer only in case if the cancer has spread to the outside of the eye.

Color blindness is basically an inaccurate term to provide a description of lack of perceptual sensitivity for various colors, a more precise term is rather Color Vision Deficiency (CVD). Color blindness is basically a color vision deficiency in which there are certain colors, which cannot be distinguished. This is generally an inherited eye condition among which red and green color blindness is most common, or it may be caused by retina or optic nerve disease and is about 99%.

Total color blindness, however, is very rare. There is neither any significant treatment of color blindness nor it can cause any specific disability, but it is rather frustrating for those suffering from it.

Clinical Information

Color sensitive receptor cones contain single visual pigments for green, red and blue light in a normal human eye but in case of color blindness only one pigment is present.Color vision is due to another eye disorder but majority of the cases are hereditary. Color blindness is most common in males and is transferred by mothers as females are carriers of color blindness.

Symptoms of color blindness

There are many factors on which color blindness depends whether this problem is partial, acquired, congenital or even complete. These are listed as:

• Difficulty to distinguish between red and green
• Difficulty to distinguish between blue and green
• Complete color blindness i.e. inability to distinguish between various shades of gray
• Nystagmus
• Reduced vision

What are different ways of diagnosis and detection?

Deficiency of color vision is detected with color vision charts called Ishihara Test Plates. Each plate has numbers, which are composed of colored dots. So a color blind person is asked to identify the colors being held this chart in the presence of good lightening.

Once this color defect is recognized, many other tests are then performed for detailed investigation.

General Treatment

As mentioned above there is no specific treatment available for color blindness.

Persons having a mild ailment try to associate the colors with certain objects, and then they can identify the colors as everyone can. However, the problem with them retained that they can’t acknowledge the full characters as the persons with normal color vision.
